Hung out to dry today

Hand dyed, drying, and almost ready to cut.

I love looking at these pieces

 drying outside on the clothesline.

Steps in the creating of an encaustic painting

Using the shibori method I create
with indigo dye. It is waiting to be painted into.

Adding the first layer, hiding some areas and
highlighting others.

More layers of color bring out shapes and lines
to be emphasized.

A stamp is used to add more pattern.
