'Metal" Embellished Ornaments
The techniques used for this project all combined to create some amazing ornaments! Students were curious how they were made and had a great time assembling these faux metal collages.

New Art Work
This is a watercolor from my own collection of art work I've created. It was more a painting from a memory of a place I had visited on a trip.

Pumpkin inspired by Yayoi Kusama
I thought you might like to try creating this pumpkin so here are the instructions.
- Draw a pumpkin with ribs and a stem on a piece of colored paper.
- Paint ribs with black paint. Add polka dots in different sizes.
- Cut this out and glue onto a larger piece of paper in a different color. Try a complimentary color scheme.
- Draw circles or triangles or rectangles across the whole background, letting them tough each other on one side. Use black marker or paint. Add white paint in between the black shapes. I used a gel pen.
- Glue onto a piece of black paper and enjoy!

Falling Leaves
Leaves in paint and crayon!
Inspired by the beautiful colors of the foliage in our backyards, the class painted colorful leaves today using negative painting. So we colored around each leaf shape, paying attention to not just their shapes but the shapes between each leaf. Hope you like it!
Here are the instructions:
Here are the instructions:
- Paint leaf colors on white paper. Not leaf shapes but just the color. Red, orange and yellow are good ones. Overlap colors a bit and balance each color over your paper.
- Gather leaves and trace them on top of your painting. Attach them to branches. When you draw the branches make sure they are double lines!
- Now using crayon, color "behind" the leaves and branches. Go right to the edge of your paper, coloring around the leaves. You will have to color over some of your painting but the result will be beautiful! I used a dark purple crayon for this example.
- Have fun!
