I will be showing a few pieces of my art work at an art show at The Hive on Ten Rod Road in Wickford, RI during April and May. The opening is on May 3^rd from 5 to 8 pm and I would love it if you could come.

Making Handmade Books

Handmade Books

One of my favorite things to create and teach.....sometimes I use recycled artwork (cut up watercolor paintings, pencil drawings, and collage) along with vintage music sheets and photos. Tape holds these together and of course hand stitching - the fun part!

Printing with the Sun.....one of the many kinds of prints we'll be making this fall in the Art Classes that started today. They're a lot of fun and combine art with photography and science.

Art Classes in Burrillville

Animals in Art Class is this week with lots of painting, drawing and more! Lions, tigers, bears, cats, giraffes, elephants and imaginary tigerasauruses????

Next week Oceans: Splash! We'll be painting and drawing creatures of the deep and maybe doing a little splashing ourselves!

Watercolor and Plastic!

Here are some beautiful and fun techniques to try with watercolors and plastic wrap. Instant texture!

Both were painted using lots of colors. The bottom painting was worked into with colored pencil to add shapes and emphasize the lines created by the wrinkling of the plastic wrap. This technique is a favorite in my painting classes! Hope you're inspired!
